London2012: Opening Ceremony to be populated by very tiny people and little animals.

According to Danny Boyle, the opening ceremony is to held on a small table with model people and animals whilst cotton wool is suspended from strings above. How come this is costing the best part of £85 million then? Surely you can get model animals in Toys R Us for a few quid?

Still it will be over quickly and we can get down to the real sporting events at all the venues.

The Sheffield Hallam University, UK, is sending 200 students from its sports development with coaching, sport event management , and journalism courses, through a partnership it has with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). Adam Gemeli has to decide shortly whether to go for the London Olympic Games 100 metres. Ok, so he would not beat Usain Bolt, but he would show Dwain Chambers the way home if recent form is anything to go by. Gemeli clocked 10.08 secs in a recent dash in Regensburg, Germany. With this form the oldies of British sprinting better sit up and take notice. There’s a new kid in town and he’s quick!

Gemeli has a big decision to make. Let’s trust it’s the right one at this stage of his career.
